MATIS - Database Laboratory
The domain of Information System is so exciting that we find a real pleasure to work in this area. Our research is focused mainly on IS engineering in its different aspects. Basically four main areas represent our research trends.
The first is the component-based IS engineering. Such approach regroups different fields of research, such as the IS components, interoperability, integration, evolution, static and dynamic aspects integration and IS ontology. It concerns the integration of new needs of information systems in legacy IS.
The second area of interest is the distributed information system design and implementation. In this area, we focused on the different interactions and knowledge overlap between the IS project partners.
The third area is the methods engineering.
Finally, the fourth area is e-government IS engineering (egovIS), where we are building a law-based framework dedicated to institutionnal IS.
Our laboratory has a long experience in national, international, scientific and industrial collaborations. We are currently member of INTEROP NoE, the european network of excellence.
MATIS is led by Pr. Michel Léonard, who is currently the director of the IS Dept. SYINF of the University of Geneva.
